"Im Juni 2011 zeigte das Netbib-Weblog ein Fundstück aus dem Jahr 1971 zur Neueröffnung einer Bibliothek in Michigan und erwähnte zugleich, dass die Bibliothek nun von der Schließung bedroht sei."

Der Giftschrank in der Bibliothek, aus: Memoro, Bank der Erinnerungen. Eine Suche mit dem Schlagwort "Bibliothek" bringt noch weitere zwei Videos bezüglich dieser Bibliothek.

Es wurde in der Bibliothek des Fernsehens der DDR nur ein Teil der Bücher verliehen. Manche bekamen das Kürzel "E" für eingeschränkt aus ideologischen Gründen, andere das "F" für Forschung. Andere wurden wiederum nach Gutdünken ausgeliehen. Bücher, welche an der Grenze von den Zöllnern beschlagnahmt wurden, kamen in den sogenannten Giftschrank.
